Installing a gas installation and gas appliances is an expert job and by law, ALL gas installation businesses must register with CORGI (Council of Registered Gas Installers) in order to comply with the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998. A large proportion of accidents involving gas occur because incompetent people have interfered with installations or appliances. Only allow CORGI registered LPG installers to install or service gas appliances.
Laws in the UK concerning gas safety impose specific responsibilities on those who supply gas, those who install gas appliances and those who use them. The Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 are concerned with the individual user's safety. They also exist to protect the general public.
Right of Entry
In the interest of safety, Calor has the contractual right to authorise staff to enter premises supplied with Calor propane through a gas distribution network, to deal with gas related emergencies.
