Emergency Procedures

Only use Gas Safe registered LPG installers to install, maintain and service your appliances. If you are unsure if your installer is Gas Safe registered or require details of a Gas Safe registered installer, contact the Gas Safe Register on 01256 372 300 or visit http://www.gassaferegister.co.uk/

LPG appliances should not be in basements, cellars or below ground level. LPG is heavier than air and if there is a leak, the gas will collect at a low level.

If you believe you have a problem with your gas supply, please contact the Calor Emergency Control Centre on 08457 444 999.

Keep the meter box clear - do not store any article in the enclosure.

Do not paint the equipment contained in the meter box.

DO shut the gas emergency control valve in the meter box.

If the smell of gas is inside, DO open all doors and windows to the outside.

DO ring the Calor Emergency Control Centre on 08457 444 999.

DO NOT operate electrical switches (either on or off), leave them alone.

DO NOT smoke or use naked flames and make sure there are no other sources of ignition around.

DO shut off the gas emergency control valve in the meter box, if it is safe to do so.

DO call the Fire Service and refer to the presence of an LPG supply.

DO ring the Calor Emergency Control Centre on 08457 444 999.

DO turn off all your gas appliances (ensure the heating and hot water programmer is switched to off).

DO shut off the gas emergency control valve in the meter box.

DO ring the Calor Emergency Control Centre on 08457 444 999

All Gas Safe registered LPG installers carry an identity card indicating what work activities they are trained to do - if in doubt, ask to see it.
